Bittersweet update on Jackie and Shadow Big Bear Eagles
Moon Camp is saved, but Jackie is ill
A few weeks back I posted about saving Jackie and Shadow’s habitat from a looming condo development. The happy news is that OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman and his family stepped in to top-off the community’s $5M in donations to bring the total to the $10M needed to purchase Moon Camp by the July 31st deadline.
Moon Camp will forever-be preserved as a home to Jackie, Shadow and generations of bald eagles to follow.
The bittersweet news is that Jackie is fighting for her life at the Ojai Raptor Center. It absolutely breaks my heart that she’s struggling, so please keep her in your thoughts.
